Jessicah Shirah Kean: "We Dont Live Here Anymore"
"We Dont Live Here Anymore" performances  --  Rabbit Hole, 1801 Commonwealth Ave.

     Saturday April 27, 2018.       3:30p - 4:30p
     Sunday April 28, 2018.         2:00p - 3:00p

The show essentially tells the story of my life, focusing on themes of violence, loss, and forgiveness. It begins in the immediate aftermath of my fathers murder in 2004 and ends with offering the murderer forgiveness.  Ultimately the story is built around the idea that hurt people inevitably hurt people and the various large and small ways that the trauma we experience informs the people we become.  My father was murdered when I was 18 years old, nearly 16 years ago now.  Hes been absent from most of my life. Yet, the violent loss of him and the searing anger I felt towards the man who took him from me has impacted nearly every aspect of my adult life. Especially since I am a parent who is still grieving the loss of a parent.  This show tells the story of how we got there, and how we find a way forward after unspeakable tragedy.

Jessicah Kean was born in eastern South Carolina and raised on any given country road.  On a dare from a teacher, she began her writing career that transcends the page to the stage and has given her a network of support over the years. When asked her reason for writing Well, its cheaper than therapy. Jessicah Kean is a poet, photographer and visual artist based in Charlotte NC.  Her work is primarily focused on storytelling, exploring the impact of trauma, and finding common ground.
