On Friday, April 12, 2019 at 8pm, ArtLitLab presents Dave Rempis on saxophones, Brandon Lopez on bass, and Ryan Packard on drums and electronic. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Student tickets $5 off with a valid school ID. Advance ticket sales end 1 hour before the show. Doors open at 7:30pm.
This free-improvising band has honed a unique sound performing together around Chicago and throughout the Midwest, deconstructing the rhythmic concept associated with jazz music such that tempos or feels can expand and contract in organic ways, while still maintaining the forward momentum that a swing feel imparts. With Ryans electronics in the mix, combined with Brandons prodigious arco technique, the group explores deep soundscapes that push the boundaries of jazz.
