StorySlam Oakland: Doubt

When did you have great doubt about something going on in your life, and what did you do to either overcome that doubt, or change because of it? Come tell us your story, or just listen to others. This month's theme is: Doubt.

StorySlam Oakland is a different kind of storytelling show, designed to make it easy to hear and tell true stories. We don't have a stage -- it's casual and fun. The audience gets to vote on the best open-mic story of the night. Two more seasoned storytellers will complement the open-mic stories from the audience. And, at StorySlam Oakland, we give away FREE DRINKS to all our open-mic storytellers!

Put your name in the hat for a chance to tell your true story of five minutes (or less) on the theme. No reading or notes allowed. Tell it from memory or just wing it! You'll hear a bell to let you know when you must wrap it up. Win a free drink ticket if you get up there to tell.

Even if you're not ready to tell, you can still submit a few lines of your epic "Doubt" story on an Audience Participation Slip. The host may read it aloud (anonymously of course).

It's a lively competition, and a fun night for storytellers and listeners alike.

Doors: 6:30 PM
Stories begin: 7:00 PM
1 intermission.

Tickets at the door will be more expensive than buying online.
Seats are first-come, first serve. Arrive when doors open to snag a seat. Otherwise it could be standing-room only.
