The Spring Portfolio Tasting
Join the Winemakers Co-Op for an afternoon in historic Cape May showcasing some of the top estate-grown wines of New Jersey. This event will feature live gypsy jazz by special musical guest Hot Club of Philadelphia, gourmet a la carte food offerings and exciting conversation about the flourishing NJ wine industry. Meet the winemakers and proprietors of the five Co-Op wineries and taste over 40 wines that adhere to their strict quality standards. All wines poured at this event will be 100% New Jersey-grown from the classic vinifera grapes of Europe and dry in style.
A special VIP Package includes:
+ access to a 12pm Winemakers Roundtable, a seated presentation and discussion of each wineries' version of "Open Source Chardonnay," the collaborative wine project of The Winemakers Co-Op
+ cheese & charcuterie spreads & crudités
+ premium bottled water
+ access to reserve wines from the wineries, and winemaker visits in the VIP designated area
Very special guest Clark Smith will give wine education presentations at 2:30pm at 3:45pm. Mr. Smith has made and sold wine for nearly 50 years, and is widely considered one of the preeminent wine consultants in the United States. In 2018 he was named one of the "100 Most Influential People" in the wine business by intowine.com, and the 2016 "Wine Innovator of the Year" by Wine Business Monthly. His participation in the Spring Portfolio Tasting is a treat for wineries and event patrons alike.
Mr. Smith's talk, titled "Why New Jersey is Destined to be a Leading Fine Wine Producing Region" will discuss several topics, including NJ's natural advantages over west coast wine production, the rise of small producers and the end of the macro winery, and what makes wines special...even sacred...in the beverage world. It's not to be missed.
As a special new feature, patrons will be able to meet and taste with each vintner at the "Winemaker's Showcase." At the Showcase area, the five winemakers will each take a 45 minute turn pouring, discussing, and answering specific questions about one single wine that they are most excited to showcase and share with guests.

Tickets are $29pp until May 5th. From May 5th through the day of the event, tickets will be $39pp. The VIP Package is $70 and is limited to 75 patrons. Youth tickets for guests under 21 years old are $10. The entire event is limited to 500 guests. Hawk Haven Vineyard & Winery & The Winemakers Co-Op encourage you to enjoy responsibly and reserve the right to refuse service at our discretion. No outside food or alcoholic beverages are permitted.
