EPAD workshop - How do we better support ourselves and each other? A well-being workshop for Independent Artists, Tuesday 19th March 10am to 1pm
Edinburgh Performing Arts Development (EPAD) is a capacity-building project, supported by Capital Theatres and the City of Edinburgh Council. We act as a facilitator and connector, enabling Edinburgh's independent performing artists and producers to share in the knowledge, experience and facilities within the city's wider cultural infrastructure.

We are delighted to be working with independent dance artist and activist Emma Jayne Park to provide a safe space for discussion about how we manage our mental health and well-being as freelancers in the performing arts.

The session will offer a confidential space to think out loud, discuss, reflect and propose some practical methods of maintaining our well-being.  We will take some time to imagine the ideal circumstances in which we could healthily pursue our practice, including finding ways to ask for what we need to ensure we are sufficiently supported as freelance workers.

We hope you will end the session feeling more connected to your peers across Edinburgh's freelance performing arts community, more able to articulate the things which might be affecting your well-being and with some ideas about how to move through them.

The morning is aimed at anyone who is keen to maintain their mental health and well-being to sustain their creative practice.
We welcome attendance from those from marginalised communities and with access needs.

This session will take place on Tuesday 19th March from 10am to 1pm and you are invited to stay and share a bowl of soup with us after the workshop.

The Festival Theatre is an accessible venue.

We are able to make a contribution of £25 to support those with costs as a carer who wish to attend the event.  If there is anything else we can do to support your attendance please let us know with your booking.

Our programme is based on the needs of Edinburgh's independent performing arts sector and due to the nature of our funding, it is only available to those who live in Edinburgh.
