Cincinnati Jazz Hall of Fame Induction 2019
Our 2019 Induction Celebration will be held at MOUNT ST.JOSEPH UNIVERSITY THEATER, 5701 Delhi Pike, Cincinnati, Ohio 45233 on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 7:00. The 2019 Inductees are: BILL GEMMER, JIM ANDERSON, WAYNE YEAGER, BILL COFFIE, BOBBY SCOTT and RAY FELDER.
Two, jazz-studies scholarships will be presented to: ZYELE GAITHER,trombone, and and CHARLES MERK, trumpet...by RUTH KLETTE for the ELSA HEISEL SULE FOUNDATION. Also, our first John Von Ohlen Scholarship for CALEB MONTAGUE, drums. And...a special Induction for WNOP Radio, accepted by the AL VONTZ FAMILY.
(A VIP Reception will be held for: CURRENT CJHOF MEMBERS ONLY...with INDUCTEES, SCHOLARSHP WINNERS & THEIR FAMILIES...with the DON STEINS TRIO and PHILLIP PAUL...at 5:00.)
NICK CLOONEY, 5th year emcee extraordinaire, will host. Headlining our entertainment will be: PHIL DEGREG performing George Gershwin's RHAPSODY IN BLUE. We are featuring PAMELA MALLORY with the WAYNE YEAGER TRIO; HANK MAUTNER'S SEXTET and the "JAZZ AT DUSK" COMBO & QUINTET. There will be silent auction items and a SUPER"split-the-pot"!
