CFAA@DU Presents Continuum Kathak Performances
Colorado Fine Arts Association (CFAA), partnering with University of Denver and it's Lamont School of Music brings to you an event unlike anything we have seen before.
The traditional kathak dance solo is a tour-de-force performance of dance, music, poetry and storytelling based in a rich artistic philosophy that extends thousands of years. Unproduced, highly interactive and in large part improvised, the traditional solo is kathak dance in its most raw and unadulterated form.
Join us for an evening featuring solo performances by Seibi Lee and Rina Mehta, two senior disciples of legendary kathak master Pandit Chitresh Das of San Francisco, accompanied by Sri Debashis Sarkar (vocals), Sri Jayanta Banerjee (sitar) and Satyaprakash Mishra (tabla).
The event will also include special appearances by Dr. Sarah Morelli and members of Denver's Sureela Academy.
This concert is part of the Continuum Festival (San Francisco April 18-21), shining a spotlight on a new generation of young masters who bring a fresh lens, contemporary voice, and new dimension to these ancient art forms.
This event is supported in part by a grant received from Bonfils-Stanton Foundation. Colorado Fine Arts Association wishes to thank the team at Bonfils-Stanton for their trust in our creative presentations and collaborations.
Tickets: -- Complimentary (FREE) to CFAA Patrons who Reserve Online by April 14th on Brownpapertickets.com -- $10 through the Lamont box office 303-871-7720 -- Complimentary parking one hour prior
