Award-winning Dutch violinist Tim Kliphuis has created a brand new style that embraces classical, gypsy jazz and folk. Hailed as a current-day improvising Paganini, his inclusive approach to music has united audiences and is influencing a new generation of string players.
After his masters degree in classical violin at the Amsterdam Conservatoire, Kliphuis studied with the European Sinti gypsies. He recorded and toured with gypsy guitar legends Fapy Lafertin, The Rosenberg Trio and Angelo Debarre.
An invitation to the Richard Strauss Festival in Germany kick-started Kliphuis crossover career, celebrating a total music without stylistic barriers. He performed for the Dutch King at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, for Celtic Connections Glasgow, at the Django Reinhardt Festival in Samois-sur-Seine and toured America, South Africa and Russia extensively.
In 2015, The Tim Kliphuis Trio (Nigel Clark, guitar and Roy Percy, double bass) premiered Vivaldi-based Reflecting the Seasons which was recorded on Sony Classical in 2016; Brandenburg, based on Bach, and the Kliphuis Violin Concerto followed in 2018.

In between Trio tours and orchestral projects, the Tim Kliphuis Sextet with string players Janneke van Prooijen, Frank Brakkee and Charles Watt continues to wow audiences across Europe.
Tim Kliphuis and his Trio have shared the stage with Les Paul, Richard Galliano, Frankie Gavin and Martin Hayes, as well as the Netherlands and Tallinn Chamber Orchestras, The Hague and Cape Town Philharmonic and Sinfonietta Amsterdam.
Kliphuis is an in-demand educator at festivals, competitions and conservatoires. He wrote the best-selling book Gypsy Jazz Violin and teaches improvisation at the Amsterdam Conservatoire and his own summer school, Grappelli-Django Camp. He is a DPA Microphones and Pirastro artist.

Le MaesTrio

Pierre Bernon : guitare classique
Pierre Louyriac : guitare flamenco
Symon Savignoni : guitare manouche

On the occasion of the release of their new album, the Maestrio will give a concert in Conques tomorrow Thursday, November 22nd. The Maestrio is the meeting of three great schools of guitar: classical, gypsy jazz and flamenco, under the fingers of three talented instrumentalists that are Symon Savignoni, Pierre Bernon, Pierre Louyriac.

Gold medalist of the conservatory, Pierre Bernon is a traveling musician who was initiated during stays abroad to Latin, North American, Algerian and gipsy music.
There he met musicians Cesaria Evora and Aretha Franklin with whom he has shared the stage several times.

Sensitivity and energy
Coming from a family of musicians, Symon Savignoni is passionate very early for the music of the master Django. He studied with Serge Krief and Christophe Lartilleux. In love with guitar and flamenco since a young age, Pierre Louyriac forges a precise and spirited technique. He delves into the roots of this culture by residing during a long stay in Cordoba where he will study at the Higher Conservatory under the teaching of Manolo Franco and José-Antonio Rodriguez and in Granada with Emilio Maya.
This unprecedented trio combining virtuosity, sensitivity and real energy will delight all music lovers with their varied repertoire consisting of standards from classical music to world music such as Aranjuez Concerto, Mozart's 25th Symphony, Django's compositions Reinhardt and Paco de Lucia, but also personal compositions of the musicians
