The Vocal Showcase
On Thursday, December 13 at 8pm the Nashville Jazz Workshop presents a very special evening of performances by some of its most accomplished vocal students. Selected by audition, these three vocalists have gone through an intensive 12-week class with instructor Connye Florance, focusing on fine-tuning their performance skills and presenting a top-notch set with a professional band.

Performing will be:

SARAH QUEEN
Sarah's degree is in classical music, but she says she's drawn to the vocal freedom she finds in jazz, and enjoys the hands-on practical instruction received at NJW. A native of Washington State, Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and a Master of Music in Classical Vocal Performance from Austin Peay State University. Before returning to Nashville, Sarah worked as a professor of voice at Visible Music College. She was also a vocal instructor at Hope Music Academy and sang on the worship team at Hope Church in Memphis, Tennessee. Sarah is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and is a frequent guest soloist with the Cumberland Winds Jazz Project.

LOUISE KELTON
Louise calls herself an Air-Force brat. She was born in England and raised in "Tiger Bay" (Cardiff Docklands) Wales. Since coming to the U.S. on a wing and a prayer, she has never looked back. She recently retired after nearly 40 years in public service. She began taking classes at NJW in search of her "true voice" . . . and were confident shes found it!

SHARON FERRARA
Originally from New York, Sharon came to Nashville in 1974 with her all-girl band. Following some success as a songwriter and singer, Sharon started her own sound and lLighting company which she ran for 32 years. Now she is singing again, coming full circle. She is a married mother of 2 and grandmother of 4 who loves riding her bike at least 12 miles a day and rehearsing her repertoire in her home studio, and also enjoys cross-country travel with her husband of 43 years.

Please join us for stellar sets by these three outstanding vocalists!
