Holiday Hootenanny with Kepi Ghoulie, Dr. Frank, and Grim Deeds
Join like-minded weirdos at one of the quirkiest venues in the Bay Area - Berkeley's Art House - for an evening of music, mirth, and merriment.
Kepi Ghoulie is the hardest working man in rock 'n' roll. You know him from his days in the Groovie Ghoulies, but if you haven't experienced his live solo show, you are in for a magically delicious treat.
Dr. Frank fought in the trenches during the hey day of the East Bay's punk pop explosion, leading The Mr. T Experience and an army of faithful disciples to salvation, but not redemption. He honed his musical chops at Gilman Street in front of unsuspecting masses of slam dancing miscreants. Like a vintage bottle of cabernet sauvignon, Dr. Frank's songbook has matured quite nicely, with complex notes of angst and subtle hints of longing. He sometimes sings songs about girls.
Grim Deeds. A rare public appearance from this man of mystery and intrigue. Avert your gaze. Speak in hushed tones. And do not attempt to feed him.
The Gretchens are no longer part of this showcase.
All ages welcome. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., music at 8:00 p.m. Five dollars for nice people, $25 for jerks.
