EQUATORS LIVE IN HARTFORD CT
EQUATORS is a solo performance piece developed and performed by Hartford Connecticut choreographer, dancer, film maker, director, producer, installation artist Arien Wilkerson that explores environmental justice as a major form of racial injustice. Through movement, sound, diagrams and conversation, EQUATORS depicts how marginalized populations experience the adversity associated with climate change. The performance examines how our emotional, mental, physical and spiritual well being is affected by our environment, the deaths that take place in those environments or climates and how we react to human made boundaries due to climate change and environmental unawareness.
If a hurricane knew it was killing thousands of people, if wildfires knew they were destroying homes, if earthquakes knew they were pummelling people into the ground, would they still do it? Could they control it? Audience members who attend this work will be asked to interrogate their expectations of and relationship to climate, bodies, anthropomorphism, police violence, and environmental waste.
There will be no refund available so please arrive to the show on time and if you can't make it please pass the ticket along to someone who can.
Tickets will be purchased at the door $15.00 cash, $16.52 w/card at door ($1.52 cent service fee)
