Stephanie Chou's compositions combine classical and Chinese music with jazz harmonies, and feature her earthy voice and warm alto saxophone sound. Growing up in Irvington, New York, Chou studied mathematics at Columbia University. In 2011, she released her first jazz album, Prime Knot, which features Marcus Printup (Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra) on trumpet. In 2012, she premiered her first commission for ballet, entitled "C for G", at Goucher College, Maryland. The piece was choreographed by American Ballet Theater principle ballerina Susan Jaffe, and features Kenny Wollesen on percussion and vibraphone.

In November 2011 and September 2012, Chou led a quintet in several performances of her original music in Taipei, Taiwan and Beijing, China.  She has performed throughout New York City at venues including Carnegie Hall,  B.B. King's, Miller Theater, Shea Stadium, Drom, The Knitting Factory, and in the atrium at Jazz at Lincoln Center, as well as in Italy, New Orleans, and Chicago. During the summer of 2007, Chou extensively explored the developing Beijing, China music scene.

Steph continues to live and perform around New York City. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in composition from the City College of New York. She has worked at ArtistShare, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Second Floor Music, and Bob Dylan Music Management in the past. She is currently working on a second album with the band performing tonight.

Matt Siffert is a New York City-based composer, songwriter, and bassist. He is
committed to these duties as individual crafts, as well as exploring the connections
between all three. Lucid Culture praised his interdisciplinary approach to music-making as "something entirely new."

Siffert has released two EP's as a solo artist   'Morningside' and 'Cold Songs'  and performed in venues such as Le Poisson Rouge, Miller Theatre, and Cornelia Street Café.
As a composer he has worked with groups such as Imani Winds, Wet Ink, and International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE). As a songwriter he has been a finalist in the BMI John Lennon Scholarship and a fellow at the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Workshop. As a bassist he has performed with Jean-Michel Pilc and studied with Kermit Driscoll, and was called a 'superbly confident bassist' by Feast of Music.

He has studied at The Juilliard School and Carnegie Mellon University, as well as
privately with Gabriel Kahane and Mohammed Fairouz.

Siffert's performance at the cell will be an all-string quartet set, featuring an encore performance of 'Cold Songs' in its entirety, as well as new and old songs arranged for the group.
