Barley's Angels Does BiXi

Join us at Logan Squares hottest new brewery and restaurant BiXi, the Chinese-inspired brewpub from the owner of Owen & Engine. BiXis owner and chef Bo Fowler will create a 3-course family-style pairing event for us (omnivore and herbivore pairings available) in the lush 2515 N. Milwaukee Avenue digs. Learn about this culinary-inspired brewery, tour the brewhouse and finish the night with a full pour of your new favorite beer. Yum!

The mythology of our restaurant begins in 14th century China, under rule of the Ming dynasty, when written stories of our namesake and his origins began to appear. Our mythology traces the Dragon King the Chinese god of water and rain, the ruler of all creatures in the sea from southeast Asia to the Midwest. Because today, Bixi, one of nine sons of the Dragon King, makes his home at 2515 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago.

So too our brewpub is a bridge across cultures and histories; from hand-pulled belt noodles to sorachi hops, ssam sets to jasmine tea blossoms, confinement soups to Szechuan peppercorns; our food and drink menus are an ode to Bixis never-ending travels, and the flavors and traditions he (and we) find in them.
