The Seattle Women in Jazz Festival presents Jeannette d'Armand & Leah Natale
This special two-part concert is being presented as part of the Seattle Women in Jazz Festival. *Doors open at 6:30 pm.
The first half of the concert will feature Jeannette d'Armand. The daughter of two classical singers and the granddaughter of a Broadway star, Jeannette has been immersed in music as long as she can remember. Formerly soloist for Cirque du Soleil's Mystère in Las Vegas, she is known to Seattle audiences as a cabaret singer and member of 5th Avenue Theatre's popular women's trio, The Daffodils. She will be performing with Rick Leppanen (guitar) and Troy Chapman (bass), of Pearl Django.

The second half of the concert will feature vocalist Leah Natale with the Darlings of Rhythm (an all-women band -- featuring saxophonist Tobi Stone, guitarist Susan Palmer, bassist Lauren Hendrix, and drummer Patty Padden).
Leah Natale recently won the 2013 Seattle/Kobe Female Jazz Vocalist of the year competition. In May, she travels to Japan to represent Seattle at various Jazz events. Leah studied with Richard Davis, bass player for Sarah Vaughn. She has three CDs that can be heard on several radio stations throughout the country.
Tobi Stone (alto sax/clarinet) has performed and recorded with many Seattle ensembles and has been a writer and soloist for two award-winning and internationally acclaimed groups, The Tiptons and Reptet. She is a member of the avante garde jazz orchestra, The B'shnorkestra and has shared the stage with many jazz legends (Dave Brubeck, Nancy King, Bert Wilson).
Patty Padden is an active performer on the Seattle jazz scene. She can be heard weekly at the New Orleans restaurant in Pioneer Square. She has performed on cruise ships and in Las Vegas showrooms, and in venues throughtout Palm Springs, Atlantic City, Lake Tahoe, and Switzerland.
Lauren Hendrix is a Seattle native and loves the bass. She currently plays in many jazz groups around The Puget Sound, with styles including swing and bebop, as well as Gypsy Jazz. Lauren is also the principal bassist for the Federal Way Symphony Orchestra and Lyric Opera Northwest.
Susan Palmer is the guitar instructor at Seattle University. She created and teaches "The Rock Project" at Cornish College of the Arts, and she is the author of "The Guitar Lesson Companion," Volumes One and Two. Susan maintains an active private studio, and has spent the past fifteen years teaching, composing and performing in the Seattle area.
