PUBLIQuartet presented by the Chamber Music Society of St. Cloud
Experience the young, adventurous, and inspiring PUBLIQuartet in their Minnesota debut! Applauded by The Washington Post as a perfect encapsulation of todays trends in chamber music, and by The New Yorker as independent-minded, PUBLIQuartets creative programming lends a fresh perspective to the Classical music scene. Dedicated to presenting new works for string quartet, PUBLIQuartet was selected as Concert Artists Guilds New Music/New Places Ensemble at the 2013 CAG Competition, and then garnered Chamber Music Americas 2015 ASCAP Adventurous Programming Award for outstanding and innovative approaches to contemporary classical, jazz, and world chamber music. Most recently, PUBLIQuartet received the 2019 CMA Visionary Award in recognition of ensembles who have "led the field in creative thinking and innovation!" Their St. Cloud program explores themes of spirituality, awakening, resilience, and inspiration by 21st-century composers including Jessica Meyer, Shelley Washington, and Nina Simone.
This organization is funded, in part, by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Central Minnesota Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
