There is one word that is commonly phrased after hearing the music of Glenn Chatten. That word is "inspires"! It is impossible not to feel the depth of being human, with all of its frailties, joys, sadness, fears and strengths when listening to one of Glenn's songs or instrumental compositions. Whether supported by his band (The Men of Quiet Desperation) or as a soloist, Glenn's mastered ability as an acoustic finger style guitarist (akin to Bruce Cockburn, Joni Mitchell or Michael Hedges) to mesh mesmerizing eclectic rhythms with profound lyrics and melodies is simply inspirational. Glenns song writing emerges from the in-between spaces of life and embraces the fragility and finite nature of life, the beauty of the brokenness and the joy of human awareness that we all share as temporal beings in this world. With the recent release of his sixth album and first solo recording of original guitar compositions, Dragonfly, Glenn continues to expand the depth of his musical ability as a phenomenal instrumentalist as proven in his 2017 CFMA "Best Solo Instrumentalist" nomination. A participating member of SAC (Songwriters Association of Canada) and Music BC; Glenn is a highly respected and established Canadian singer/songwriter now residing in Whitehorse, YT, with over thirty years of experience as an uniquely astounding finger-style acoustic guitarist, touring performer, songwriter, producer and recording artist.
