Wide Angle Lunches offer you an hour of space in the centre of your day. An hour to forget what's going on at home, in the office, in your head, and re-focus. An energizing, organic lunch, an expert's insight into a new theme, a fresh perspective on a familiar topic. Emerge from the peaceful surrounds of the Charleston Library Society rested, recharged and perhaps also inspired.

On April 11, 2013, Reta Jo Lewis, the Secretary of State's Special Representative for Global Intergovernmental Affairs will speak about her career, in "Diplomacy and Statecraft: Leading, Leveraging and Engaging Global Communities."

On April 18, 2013 John Rashford, Professor of Anthropology at the College of Charleston, will speak about "People and Plants: the African Baobab Tree in the Americas".

On May 2, 2013, David H. and Reba W. Williams, donors of the largest private collection of American fine art prints to the National Gallery of Art, will speak about their new occupations in "Prints: Fact and Fiction".

On May 7, 2013 conductor and composer John Kennedy, Resident Conductor and Director of Orchestral Activities at the Spoleto Festival USA will speak about "Matsukaze and the Spoleto Festival USA Orchestra".

On May 9, 2013, Leslie G. Bowman, President of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, which owns and operates Monticello, will speak about "Thomas Jefferson Today: From Monticello to a Global Legacy".
