Alchemy: A Tribute to the Golden Age of Egyptian Film
All of the dance classes we offer for regular study at Electric Nomad Dance are rooted in not only the ethnic dances of Egypt and the Maghreb, but are most heavily connected to Raqs Sharqi, or the "Dance of the East" which was born and popularized during Egypt's Golden Age of Film in the 1940's-1960's. "Alchemy" is our tribute to this wonderful time period of art and dance, and the fusion and cultural collaborations that are elemental to the genre.
Alchemy is also serving as a fundraiser for two organizations: ReEstablish Richmond, an organization that supports refugees, and also Porchlight Animal Sanctuary. A portion of proceeds will go to each of these organizations.
You will not want to miss this transformative, golden spectacle of dance and theatre!
