LOUD LOVE LIVE 4 LAVERNE

In March of this year, Nicholas J LaVerne was taken from us all too soon at barely 50 years old. For everyone who knew Nicky, you remember the funny, thoughtful, loving, creative and talented man he was. His passing leaves a gigantic hole in many lives, but his young son will undoubtedly be the person affected most by this tragedy. This benefit was organized with him in mind.

Nick was active in the music scene, writing, recording and performing voraciously in the 80s and 90s with bands including Drastic Measures, the Fables, Screaming Meemies, Guardrail and Sinker. More recently, he was a founding member of Ithaca based band Stone Cold Miracle, recording and performing with them right up until his untimely death.

To honor Nick's memory, his contribution to music, and his indelible impact on the lives of those who knew and loved him, five bands are coming together on a very special evening in October to perform at a celebration of Nick's life.

Bands include:

Screaming Meemies: One of Nick's most popular bands, which he founded with 3 childhood friends, all of whom remain active in music today.

Wallmen: Seminal CNY band and Bar None recording artist, contemporaries with the Meemies, reuniting for this very special occasion.

Arty Lenin/Gary Frenay Band: CNY music legends, known internationally as well.

The Trend: Powerful post-punk outfit from the 80s, still active to date.

Stone Cold Miracle: Soulful Funky RnB band, the denouement of Nick's musical contribution to the world.

Special guest artists to perform in lobby!

The show is at The Palace Theatre, 2384 James St. in Syracuse on Saturday, October 6th. Doors at 6pm. Mainstage show at 7pm. People who wish to contribute, but cannot actually attend are encouraged to purchase a ticket anyway, as all money raised will be set up in an account to benefit Nick's son.
