World Premiere Gala Event Mr. Brewster's Invigorating Invention
Opera Kansas opens their 2018/2019 season with the world premier of the new opera "Mr. Brewster's Invigorating Invention", gala reception and guest appearance by the composer. "Mr. Brewster's Invigorating Invention" is the winner of the second Zepick Modern Opera Competition an international competition held by Opera Kansas. The 2018 competition requested a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math theme. The winning composition will be the flagship production for OPERAtion Education, Opera Kansas' educational outreach program. Mr. Anthony R. Green will present a program describing his inspiration for the subject, compositional techniques and what competitions, such as ZMOC, means to young composers.
