Événement
Diane Cluck in New Orleans, LA
(Tickets available at the door after 6:30pm)
7pm doors, 7:30 show
ZOE BOEKBINDER's (zoeboekbinder.com) voice sounds like its being played off a vinyl record. She plays old time folk and blues with cello, violin, three-part harmony and finger plucked guitar. Now with three releases and another on the way, Zoe's current project is a collaboration with songwriters incarcerated at New Folsom Prison, where she has been playing concerts and teaching workshops since 2010. The album will be a benefit for arts in prisons.
DIANE CLUCK (dianecluck.info) is a singer-songwriter of intuitive folk music based in Charlottesville, Virginia. She tours the US, UK and Europe, employing singing as a healing, textural experience in which audiences may wander, ponder, or simply be.
"Bell-clear and hotly austere, her lithe, dynamic voice hasn't much kin. Categorizing her as folk is simplistic. (Cluck) emanates something humble but mythic. Appalachia or ancient Athens? Both hum and lilt in the unpretentious drama of her airy songs." -Time Out New York
Diane accompanies herself on various instruments including guitar, piano, harmonium, zither, and a copper pipe instrument she built by hand.
