Guitar Euphoria presents: The Whidbey Island Guitar Festival

A part of the Guitar Euphoria concert series, the Whidbey Island Guitar Festival is a three-day event celebrating the many voices of the guitar as presented by some of the greatest guitarists of the northwest.

Throughout the festival, guests will experience musical styles from the ancient, to classical, to contemporary... from folk to jazz to world music. The instruments played will be just as diverse, showcasing the many siblings and cousins of the guitar.

This festival is designed for both those who love to play guitar and those who just love to listen.

Ticket Prices:
Friday only: $20
Saturday only: $25
Sunday only: $25

All Three days:
"Festival Ticket" - Single 3-day ticket: $60.00
"Perfect Pair" - Two 3-day tickets: $100.00

About Guitar Euphoria

The initial inspiration behind the Guitar Euphoria concept was the idea of bringing people together from all walks of life.

Many guitar festivals are about a certain genre of music; classical, jazz, folk, country, or rock. Thus they attract a very specific audience that is interested in that particular style of music. The idea behind Guitar Euphoria is kind of the post office concept, anybody and everybody could be there. Perhaps it could also be described as a high-end buffet you can sample music you wouldn't normally have the opportunity to listen to.  

In an afternoon of Guitar Euphoria's Whidbey Island Guitar Festival, you might have a classical guitarist playing right after a blues guitarist, an oud player performing right after an Americana folk style guitarist, thus bringing audiences of different types under the same roof.

The artistic director, Andre Feriante comes from a classical background but many years ago his philosophy of art opened to more extensive ideas, moving beyond tradition. Open-mindedness, a quest for beauty, knowledge, cultural diversity and a sense of community have become key components in Andre's artistic vision. Andre has also become fascinated with every possible version and ancestor of the guitar, the roots of the instrument going back to ancient times and from all corners of the world.
