"DUE DILIGENCE: EVALUATING A POTENTIAL INVESTMENT"
The March workshop is free for incubator companies; $15 for all others. General networking and light refreshments available at 8 am; program begins at 8:30.
DESCRIPTION: Once a potential investor decides that a company is of significant interest, an evaluation process is undertaken to verify that the company is worthy of investment. This is the hard part. The investor will ask for specific information from the entrepreneur, often referred to as the due diligence checklist, and then verify that information through independent research. This fourth workshop will address the substance and process of due diligence, which deals with management, products/services, market and finances. In addition, advice will be given on how the entrepreneur should conduct due diligence on the potential investor. An investment is a relationship. Both sides need to be comfortable before consummating the deal. A distinguished panel of experienced investors and entrepreneurs will discuss these issues.
