Jamie Davis & Quintet - Tenth Annual Whale & Jazz Festival Main Event
The Main Event of the 2013 10th Annual Whale & Jazz Festival will be presented on Saturday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Gualala Arts Center Coleman Auditorium.
The Main Event features Jamie Davis (formerly with the Count Basie Band) and a quintet of veteran jazz musicians. Davis will share the stage with Roger Glenn, vibes & reeds; Glenn Pearson, piano; Kyle Gregory, trumpet; John Shifflett, bass; and Leon Joyce.
"Sophisticated and suave song stylist Jamie Davis will remind you of legends Joe Williams and Lou Rawls. His beautifully memorable baritone voice is one of the best anywhere," says Fred Adler, KTDE FM Radio personality and Whale & Jazz Festival Music Coordinator. "He is joined by an exceptional quintet of seasoned jazz musicians. As authentic, classic, swinging and with feeling as they come - the genuine article."
