The summer solstice is the day with the most hours of sunlight during the whole year. This year, the Sun will reach its northernmost point from the equator on Thursday, June 21st
The word solstice is from the Latin solstitium, from sol (sun) and stitium (to stop), reflecting the fact that the Sun appears to stop at this time.
Let's celebrate the official start of SUMMER a couple days early > Homewood Stories Style ...where we....
turn off our phones, gadgets, screens and distractions to sit, listen and be 'present to the moment' with each other..
Experience for yourself the genuine connection, a community event, a sense of belonging - -- of 'coming home' by turning off distractions and tuning in to each other.....
Best part of the night is having YOU in the beautiful audience!
Come early and come hungry so we can enjoy supper club-like style atmosphere provided by Ravisloe Country Club and our musician Kirk Lindstrom. Food and beverage will be available for purchase.(official menu will be posted on Facebook soon)

* Eunice Jarrett > a retired elementary teacher from Indiana and has worked in Mental Health with a Master's in Counseling. a member of The Kates stand up comedy group She is the proud mother of 2 adult sons [and the ex-wife of more] (optional ending)
*Lee Melchior >Storyteller,Executive Coach, communication consultant and host of Do Not Submit/Edgewater, Chimera Loft in Evanston and the Story Rug at Evanston Farmers Market.
*Suzy Dritz > Homewood resident, HF grad, Chicago Heights Drama Group favorite, Homewood Stories raving fan.
*Janice Del Negro > writer, storyteller, folktale artist extraordinaire, creative and associate professor at Dominican University
* Dr. Karen ODonnell: Producer, host, dentist that gives her patients homemade fudge.
