"Porter meets Weill" -
- American & German Broadway Delights with the Verena McBee Trio" is featuring the works of Cole Porter and Kurt Weill.
As a native German Ms McBee will treat you with some Weill-tunes written for the expressive theatre world of Brecht in her mother language and put them into context with Broadway-favorite Cole Porter.
As two contemporaries in one program, it will be fascinating to hear back to back, what both giants brought to Broadway with their different cultural and musical backgrounds, but so often similar topics.
Verena McBee will take you back into the booming time of the entertainment business of the 30ies and 40ies with her refreshing interpretations & improvisations as a jazz artist.

Verena McBee was born and raised in Northern Germany.
At age 7 she took piano lessons over 15 years and added the flute at age 14.
In 1993 she studied classical music for teaching. With her acceptance at "Schule fuer Schauspiel" in Hamburg in 1997 she changed to acting.
Between 2000-2006 Verena appeared in Hamburg, Munich, Vienna, Cologne, Brussels, Prisdina and NYC.
In 2007 she moved to NYC and expanded her musical variety by studying jazz vocals.
Since 2009 Verena has performed with the likes of George Cables, Victor Lewis, Cecil McBee, David Kikoski, Mark Soskin and John DiMartino.

Seating at Pangea is communal. Other guests may be seated at the table. There is a $20 per person food and beverage minimum at the tables. Guests may order dinner in the music room once it opens at 9PM

Seating for the show begins at 9PM. Its recommended to arrive no later than 9PM if you intend to order dinner.

Late arrivals will be seated at managements discretion.
