Motion Picture Music Scoring with Ben Caucci
Spend an evening learning how to compose music for film from industry veteran, Ben Caucci, who has worked as a composer, percussionist and music producer for major Hollywood studio features and television as well as independent films, shorts and documentaries. Among their credits are the History Channels Roots, the Oscar-nominated score for How to Train Your Dragon, Captain Phillips, The Lorax, Happy Feet Two, Rio, Kung Fu Panda 2, and Ice Age: Continental Drift. Ben was composer (with jazz musician John Fee) for the award-winning indie dark comedy Chez Upshaw starring Kevin Pollak and Illeana Douglas. Recently, hes written the Balkan brass inspired score for the film 7 Day Gig (co-produced by Film Independents Project Involve and PBS) as well as the South American folk influenced music for Miracle Maker, currently screening at various film festivals. He provided the synth-based score for the sci-fi short Bunker 731, an official selection of the Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival, among others. Their music was featured in the documentary Living on One Dollar, whose mission was to raise awareness of global poverty. Ben spoke on the panel of the LA Film Festivals Emerging Filmmakers and Composers and was a guest on the San Diego Film Festival panel The Art and Craft of Film Music sponsored by ASCAP.
