BILL SHANNON: MAKER MOVES
Moving on crutches and a skateboard, Shannon explores the essential role failure plays in creative innovation. Using classic storytelling and absurdist physical comedy, Shannon takes on the character of a boisterous street busker attempting his most complex trick maneuvers on crutches to share with his audiences. If at first you dont succeed try, try again is his characters motto. The piece has an autobiographical element and Shannon incorporates wood, steel and aluminum crutches that he has fabricated by hand over his three decades of performance practice.
