RORY BLOCK: RORY BLOCK'S GOSPEL & BLUES FESTIVAL
For this years Blues Fest Rory Block is focusing on Power Women of the Blues to celebrate the importance of womens contributions to the blues and her own Mentor Series 2, recordings which pay tribute to great early women of the blues. The first record, which has just recently been completed, is a tribute to the great Bessie Smith. After more than 20 highly acclaimed releases and five Blues Music Awards, Rory is at the absolute height of her creative powers.
This solo concert focusing on womens place in the blues is a unique opportunity to experience the power of Rorys authentic, deeply felt and skillfully wrought performance in an intimate setting.
