Afterschool Enrichment: Spring Session
Longboarding with Ms. H
Interested in picking up a hobby that is useful for transportation and fun? Join our class to learn and practice the basics of longboarding such as balancing, pushing along on your board, carving through cones, and stopping. Participants will be cruising around in no time! The following equipment is required to participate in the class: longboard OR skateboard, knee, elbow and wrist guards, and helmet.
Who: All Ages When: Tuesday, 3:30-4:30pm Cost: $70 per child
Dates: April 10, 17, & 24 and May 1, 8, & 15.
Comics and Cartoons
Guaranteed to tickle the funny bone of every aspiring artist! Students will have a blast developing their own comic strips and graphic novels through instruction, reference material, and lots of drawing. Learn professional secrets and tricks of the trade from internationally syndicated Heathcliff cartoonist, Peter Gallagher. All skill levels welcome.
Who: Grades 2-6 When: Tuesdays, 3:30-4:30pm Cost: $70 per child.

Readers Theater with Mrs. Diorio
Come act out your favorite tales with Mrs. Diorio! Students will read and act out familiar tales using a script, pictures, and drawings.
Who: Grades K-1 When: Tuesdays, 3:30-4:30pm Cost: $70 per child.
Dates: April 10, 17, & 24 and May 1, 8, & 15.
Engineering Challenges with Montclair Learning Center
Students will apply the engineering design process as they engage in hands-on project every week. Topics will include 6 types of engineering: civil, electrical, chemical, mechanical, environmental, and biomedical and students will utilize littleBits, Knex, and a robotic hand, among other materials building bridges, working electric circuits and instruments, and exploring renewable energy sources.

Chess
Take your chess game to the next level! Master fundamental chess strategies while earning trophies and prizes with lessons planned by New Jersey State Chess Champion Mackenzie Molner.
Who: Grades 4-6 When: Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30pm Cost: $80 per child

Intro to Karate with Talium Martial Arts
The Martial Arts after school program will develop the physical aspects of Martial Arts movements as well as the mental aspect of listening respect and self control. Student will learn basics skills of blocking kicking and punching. But More importantly they will learn aspect of focus, self-discipline and confidence that they can use in their everyday life.

Soapmaking with Miss Kelly
All natural soap making with Miss Kelly! Students will learn about the different kinds of soap bases (clear, white, aloe vera, coco butter, and Shea butter). We will learn about adding additives like oats, lavender buds, and coffee grinds to make a scrub soap. We will make soaps for the different seasons!

Intro to Art
Students will be introduced to various art techniques including watercolor, acrylic paints, colored pencil and pastel. A different project will be completed each week.
