Join us for an intimate evening of Brazilian music featuring Rogério Souza, Edinho Gerber, & Pittsburgh-raised percussionist Lucas Ashby!

About Rogério:

Guitarist, composer and arranger.
Brazilian, born in Rio de Janeiro, Rogerio is one of the great representatives of the Carioca language of the Brazilian guitar.
Always participating in major events related to instrumental music and popular Brazilian music, especially Choro and Samba.
Over the years, he has worked with great Brazilian artists as musician, arranger and musical director, in shows, television programs, CDs, DVDs, films, among others ...
He performed works with Baden Powell, Paulinho da Viola, Sivuca, Ney Matogrosso, Altamiro Carrilho, João Bosco, Paulo Moura, Ivan Lins, Guinga, Turíbio Santos, Rafael Rabello, Elizeth Cardoso, Nara Leão, Cristovão Bastos, Ronaldo do Bandolim, Toninho Ferraguti, Proveta, Node groups in Pingo D'agua and Epoque de Ouro, and with many samba artists from Rio de Janeiro: Zeca Pagodinho, Martinho da Vila, João Nogueira, Dona Ivone Lara, Elton Medeiros, Monarco, Delcio carvalho, Nelson Sergeant,  , among others.
 At the moment, he is dedicated to his solo work, doing concerts and workshops throughout the USA, Latin America, Europe and Asia in spreading Choro, his books and his last CDs.

About Edinho:
Son of a Brazilian mother and American father, guitarist and composer Edinho Gerber possesses a rich musical vocabulary developed in the two countries where he was raised: the United States and Brazil. Navigating effortlessly between the genres of choro, jazz, samba, and blues, he is always in search of the intersection points within his dual cultural identity.  A staple in the Chicago music scene for many years, he was a highly in demand sideman having played with countless U.S. based Brazilian groups, including Som Brasil, Renato Anesi Trio,  A Cor do Brasil, and led the samba-jazz group Zona Sul. He has performed in prestigious festivals and concerts in throughout the United States, Russia, and Japan, and currently resides in Rio de Janeiro where he performs regularly with Duo Violão Brasil and is preparing for the upcoming releases of his debut solo album and of an inventive new cross cultural collaboration with Ben Lamar.  


About Lucas:
Lucas Ashby is a nationally-touring musician performing with acts from around the globe, from Afrobeat-funk outfit Big Mean Sound Machine, to collaborations with Ghanaian artists Yao Foli "Cha Cha" Augustine and akan harp master Osei Korankye, to projects centered around the Lusophone diaspora with Cape Verdean/Senegalese vocalist-instrumentalist Jean-Francis Varre and internationally-acclaimed Brazilian vocalists Kenia, Cissa Paz, and Rose Moraes. In addition, Lucas performs regularly in groups specializing in 21st-century avant-garde chamber music with Arco Belo, an ensemble he co-founded with Israeli-Italian accordionist Simone Baron (featuring Chick Corea & Randy Brecker alum Bassist Mike Pope), and in straight-ahead jazz contexts with esteemed groups such as the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra, headed by Mike Tomaro (Duquesne University) and renowned trumpeter Sean Jones, with whom he backed up pioneering Cuban saxophonist and composer Paquito D'Rivera.  Ashby also recently gave a duo performance with Brazilian guitar phenom Diego Figueiredo, along with a recent performance at Carnegie Hall in Pittsburgh with Brazilian masters Nilson Matta and Chico Pinheiro.


This private house concert will also feature a Meet & Greet with light dinner provided, just select VIP ticket!
