St. Lawrence String Quartet with Todd Palmer, Clarinet - Mill Valley Chamber Music Society
Mill Valley Chamber Music Society presents its 4th concert of the 46th season of chamber music highlighting internationally celebrated classical artists. On Sunday, February 17, 2019 the St. Lawrence String Quartet will perform featuring Geoff Nuttall and Owen Dalby on violin, Lesley Robertson on viola, Christopher Costanza on cello, joined by acclaimed clarinet virtuoso Todd Palmer. Immediately after the concert the audience is invited to stay for a reception to meet Bay Area composer Jonathan Berger and the performers.
Program:
The St. Lawrence String Quartet with Todd Palmer will perform classic and contemporary pieces spanning four centuries of various cultures and aspects of humanity:
§ Haydn: String Quartet in D, op. 20, No. 4 (1772)
§ Beethoven: String Quartet in A minor, op. 132, 3rd movement Heilige Dankgesang (1825)
§ Golijov: The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind for Clarinet & String Quartet (1994)
§ Jonathan Berger (Bay Area composer): Tango alla Zingarese (2016)
