Empanadas are a tantalizing Spanish specialty; essentially a turnover made with a flaky pastry crust and a sweet or savory filling. In this class we will prepare chicken, carrot and potato empanadas served with a four herb chimichurri sauce, and a sweet pineapple and dried cherry version. Students will gain skills in making pastry dough, rolling, filling and shaping empanadas. At the end of class, we will enjoy them with a glass of vino tinto.
Instructor: Jill Simmons
This is a hands on baking class.
Students will enjoy a taste of each recipe, and a complimentary glass of wine will be offered to students 21 and over.
