Bagel Burlesque Expo 2018 (ateliers / workshops)
You want to discover burlesque or improve your skills? Bagel Burlesque Expo is happy to propose 3 different workshops taught by top-notched instructors on Saturday, April 22nd. All Workshops take place at Studio 88 Swing (7243 Rue St-Hubert).

12:15pm - 1:15pm : The Honey Badger Technique: SLAYAGE 101 With Instructor Jeez Loueez (en anglais seulement / in english only)
DAMN! Did you see that?! What just happened?! Oh nothing, just you KILLING IT ON STAGE! In this anticipated specialty class Jeez Loueez, the Honey Badger of Burlesque, will guide you through The Honey Badger Technique! Learn how to take what you want and dish it all back to your audience. Chock full of woo woo theater exercises, wackadoodle improv games, and other tried and true made up crap, THBT will help you
break the fourth wall, amp up your stage presence, commit to your character, slay the stage from beginning to end, and have them begging for an encore. You'll leave this class feeling like an unstoppable powerhouse who doesn't give a sh*t!
Wear comfy, form fitting, workout or dance attire. Bring paper/pen for note taking.

1:30pm - 2:30pm : Comedy and Burlesque: Finding your Funny Boner With Instructor April O'Peel (en anglais seulement / in english only)
Burlesques literal definition is to make fun of! Learn to find or hone your funny boner as as we break down the how to of creating a funny burletta and finding your comedic style. This classexamines why we laugh in order to discover our own comedic style. Using principles from sketch comedy as well as others relative to Burlettas, we learn to say yes to being silly in order to explore a different kind of power onstage.

2.45pm 3.45pm : Bob Fosse - Jazz Choreography With Instructor Knox Harter (en anglais seulement / in english only)
Bob Fosse (1927-1987) was a choreographer known for his subtle sexuality and bold angles, creating an iconic dance style that turned Hollywood and Broadway on its head. Learn the nuances and signatures of this highly influential style and immerse yourself in Fosses broad and diverse repertoire with Knox Harter.
Recommended level: Beginner/Intermediate
Things to bring: - Comfortable close-fitting dance wear, heels are optional
