The Snow Queen

The magical trolls have created a magic mirror that distorts the appearance of everything it reflects, magnifying only the bad aspects. The mirror is accidentally dropped and shatters into billions of pieces which are blown all over the world and into people's hearts and eyes.

Many years later, two girls, Katherine and Gerda, play in a garden of roses and share stories of Isolde, the evil Snow Queen. One winter night, pieces of the trolls' mirror blow into Katherine's eye and heart. Katherine is lured away by the Snow Queen and taken to her palace.

Gerda awakens the next morning to find her best friend has vanished. On a quest to save her best friend, Gerda must break the spell of a sorceress, escape from a band of gypsies, and get past the ice crystals guarding the Snow Queen's palace. Can Gerda help Katherine unlock the Snow Queen's spell and release her from the Snow Queen's power?

Adding to the excitement, The Fairfax Ballet Company will also premier two original pieces commissioned by the Company. Join us for these contemporary ballet and neoclassical dance performances before the story ballet begins.

Tickets will also be available at the door beginning one hour before each show.

Refreshments will be available for purchase during intermission.
