Ken Ard: THAT THING CALLED LOVE
Ken Ard (vocals) & Mark Berman (piano)

These six simple words, (love makes the world go round) may sound like a catch phrase or a song lyric however truer words have never been spoken.
There are many different levels, degrees and types of love but the one love  being explored this evening is the one mankind has evolved to place the most importance on,  the kind that has caused wars and and brought down civilizations, the kind that connects us all and makes us human.
The Romantic Kind.
So get ready, cause Love Is In The Air

The Men Of Broadway
A Cabaret Benefit
"It was Ken Ards master class in vocals and performing that was the highlight of the evening. A slight man with an understated charm, Ard took off his glasses at the beginning of Round Midnight (Thelonious Monk/Bernie Hanighen) and let loose in a jazz vocal that was at times playful, others showy, but always appropriate. He became the embodiment of the moody nature of the piece and negotiated working the audience and working the musical phrases with a virtuosity rarely seen.
If theater cabarets tend to be hit or miss, this one was definitely a hit and hopefully inspires others to bring on the same."

Downtown's intimate supper-club Pangea is the ultimate in alt, playing home to some of the best in alt cabaret. The New York Times recently called it a bohemian oasis not unlike the fabled Max's Kansas City from days gone by."
