RON YEO, FAIA ARCHITECT

Ron's ability to produce high-quality, sensitive design solutions has been developed over the past 50 years.  He enjoys working on complex projects and has the ability to introduce order into complicated issues (technical, physical or emotional) through a simple, logical process.

He is recognized as a leader in supporting a better built environment and has been an active proponent of sustainable design during most of his practice.  He has lectured to a variety of Universities, Colleges and Environmental Museum & Professional Organizations on "green" architecture and sustainable planning.

Designing "Green" architecture philosophy within Nature and Interpretive Center projects helps visitors learn that Architecture cannot be separated from the environment, urban planning, landscape design, art, graphics, and interior design.  The recognition of the interdependence of these relationships is essential to a successful project.

The press dubbed him as "the Ralph Nader of Orange County" for his efforts in lecturing and coordinating groups in solving urban ugliness and environmental concerns.  Not long ago, he was called "Father Nature" for his sensitive work in Huntington Beach for the Pier Plaza.

Ron Yeo is a founding member of the National Association of Interpretation and was a director of the Orange County Natural History Foundation from 1980 to 1987.  "InterpEdge"

Ron Yeo, a native Californian, was raised in Long Beach.  He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California in 1960 and was licensed in 1961.  (#3567) After traveling and working in Europe and Sweden from 1961 to 1963, he returned to California and established a private architectural practice in 1963

His work has been published widely and has won many honors and awards including being selected for the "Best of the West" 1978 CCAIA Conference and Traveling Exhibit, as well as the First Annual Monterey Design Conference "California 101" in 1980.  He is also a recipient of the CCAIA Public Service Award in 1983.
AIAOC Presidents Award in 2012.

He was advanced to Fellowship in the AIA in 1976.
