Portland powerhouses Tara Velarde, Laryssa Birdseye, and Anna Gilbert join forces for the first time for a Triple-Release show at The Old Church. Flawless vocals, introspective lyrics, and beautifully crafted songwriting dominate the night as each artist takes the stage backed by her full band to celebrate these releases.
Tara Velarde
Raised in the sleepy farmland outside of the nation's self-proclaimed weirdest city, Tara Velarde is a captivating combination of class and sass. Imagine Regina Spektor's spunk and Brandi Carlile's energy juxtaposed against Joni Mitchell's serenity, and you start to get the idea of this dynamic artist and her unique Diva Folkstyle.
Deena Drewis (Sacramento News and Review) states that the "cherubic vocals of frontwoman Tara Velarde will strike a chord with fans of Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson", and Kelsey Anne Rankin (Eugene Weekly) says that Velarde "Fuses a mixture of blunt and angelic vocals to express lyrics that sound like a soul put to melody." These poetic lyrics are introspective, sharp-witted, and often profound, sharing stories of life and revelations that captivate listeners and invite them on the journey.
With the release of "The Tara Novellas" (2014) , "Get Out and Walk" (2016), and her most recent single "Willow Baby" (2017), Velarde and her band have played extensively around their native Portland, OR and toured throughout the Western US and Canada. Velarde has appeared on radio, TV, and at numerous festivals and fairs, sharing her passion for music wherever it can be heard.

Laryssa Birdseye
Portland, Oregon is a city ripe with musicianship, talent and creativity. Despite all the city has to offer, Laryssa Birdseye effortlessly stands out as one of Portland's most captivating musical offerings. Generating new fans at every performance, Laryssa has been gaining steady momentum with no signs of slowing the pace.
Self-described as a folk singer that accidentally began to write pop music, Laryssa uses humor and honesty to entrance her audience. Having struggled with addiction and an eating disorder, Laryssas songs reflect the turmoil of heartbreak, dependency, regret, and the persistent strive towards healing, making her originals relatable and her hooks infectious. Her soaring vocals are filled with flawless riffs and soulful melodies. Best known for her biting wit and clever lyricism, Laryssa stands out best as a songwriter, offering tremendously relatable contentoften serving to inspire, often breaking your heart open as she spills hers.
Laryssa has been active in Portland for the past two years, with notable performances at venues like the Doug Fir and Mississippi Studios, appearances on Portland Radio Project (99.1 FM) and has been featured on KGWs Mic Check.

Anna Gilbert
Anna Gilbert, a singer-songwriter living in Portland, Oregon, composes songs about life, love, and loss. Gilberts songs are from the heart, and she hopes she can bring warmth, truth, and sweetness into the heartbreak and sadness that affects us all. Gilbert also spends much of her time collaborating and co-writing with other artists in addition to pursuing her own musical endeavors. She has collaborated with Charlie Peacock, Jeremy Larson, Daves Highway, Peter Hollens, Sam Ashworth, and Nate Botsford, just to name a few.
Im not an entertainer as much as I am, first and foremost, a storyteller and songwriter, Gilbert states, I am a chronic social sponge when it comes to whats going on around me, but I always try to put the glories and disasters of the human experience into my songs in hopes that it will lift peoples spirits and give them peace in life. And she does. Her down-to-earth femininity injects playfulness and adventure into the simplicities of every day life as she brings you into her memories and into her home with songs that become the soundtrack to life telling stories we all know stories that are ours.
