Larry Kaplan with David Paton and Tom White
Larry Kaplans songs are widely known by audiences and folk musicians throughout the world including Song for the Bowdoin, The Wreck of the Bayrupert, Old Zeb, Song
for Gale, and many others. Accompanying himself on acoustic guitar and banjo, Larry draws his inspiration from the rich tradition of songs that have also found their way
across the Pond from England, Ireland, and Scotland, as well as from his extensive repertoire of original contemporary ballads. The late Sandy Paton, distinguished
Connecticut balladeer and founder of Folk Legacy Records referred to Larry as one of the best song-makers in the American folk song revival," and the Roots Music Authority
magazine, No Depression, attributes to him the making of some of the most finelycrafted contemporary songs in modern folk music.stunningly painted portraits of life
in the North Atlantic seaboard states from Marthas Vineyard, Connecticut and Vermont, to northern coastal Maine. Kaplans original songs are ballads written in the
tradition---stories in song, best known for themes of the sea and rivers and of the people
who make these their home. His music is New England through and through, never cluttered or overwrought, despite the difficult topics he explores. The charm of Kaplan is
the beauty and humor he sees in the ordinary. Whether on the stage or through his three highly acclaimed Folk Legacy CDs he gives a voice to those who are often not heard

David Paton is a well-known and highly respected for his virtuoso concertina and hammered dulcimer playing as well as his rich repertoire of music from diverse sources
including Quebecois, Swedish, Finnish, English and Scottish traditional ballads, and traditional American folk music. He hails from one of Connecticuts most recognized
folk music families, former Connecticut State Troubadours, and the founders of Folk Legacy Records Inc., Sandy and Caroline Paton. Influenced throughout his childhood by
many leaders of both the American and British folk revival, it is no wonder he is a natural as a soloist, accompanying contemporary and traditional musicians, such as Larry Kaplan, or in lead roles in a range of successful string bands and folk ensembles. Davids latest collaboration has been with Connecticuts Wildcat Creek Band, David is
principal recordist for Music Mountains NPR music series and assumes a key role in moving the Folk Legacy banner forward.
Tom White was raised in the rich musical environment of Maryland along the Chesapeake Bay water front..Family gatherings always had what they called "Ole time music", rich in Bluegrass, Folk and traditional music of all kinds. Over the years, starting with guitar, hes added many instruments to his expertly played collection including fiddle, tin whistle, concertina, mandolin, hammer dulcimer, and others... In the 1980s Tom moved to upstate NY and has been an integral part the musical community of the Duchess County area for over 20 years which is where he met
and started playing with Dave Paton. He now lives in the Schoharie Valley and continues to collaborate with many local and regional musicians and bands including most
recently, Wildcat Creek specializing in wide range of musical style including Celtic, Eastern European, Appalachian and original contemporary songs.
