The goal of these programs are to provide Brookdale students with fun and engaging classes!
ABOUT THE CLASSES
The Fall program (6 classes) will start during the week of October 9 and runs through the week of November 27. Heres what you need to know about this Falls classes.
*Please note there are no classes the week of November 7 and the week of November 20th, due to half days and days off.
Youth Basketball with YW Ballers
YW Ballers puts the fun in FUNdamentals. With the edutainment services the kids will have a great time learning basketball along with the mathematics of counting, science of angles, and gravity of movement. YWBallers teaches kids it's not about winning or losing, it's about learning how to have fun while learning.
Who: Grades 1-3 When: Thursday, 3:30-4:30pm Cost: $70 per child
Kids Cook!
HAPPY HEALTHY KIDS Each class will introduce a different "herb of the week" which will be used in one of that weeks dishes that will be prepared. Perhaps it will be Cilantro and students will chop their way to an amazing fresh salsa to enjoy; or Basil and blend it to make an amazing fresh pesto to top our delicious cold pizzas. At the end of each weekly class, the kids will also plant the seeds of the herb used that day in their own little pots to bring home so that by the end of the program they will have an awesome herb garden started at home!
Who: Grades 4-6 When: Wednesday, 3:30-4:30pm Cost:$70 per child
Introduction to Jewelry
Make your own jewelry! In this hands-on class, students will learn how to make their own unique pieces from start to finish using a variety of materials. They will learn design skills and color and size coordination. The teacher will demonstrate how to use tools and basic findings. By the end of this course you will have your own collection of wearable art. Projects Students Will Make: Necklace, Bracelet, Anklet, Earrings (clip-ons will be available), Keychain, Bookmark.
Who: Grades 4-6 When: Wednesday, 3:30-4:30 Cost: $70 per child
Introduction to Art, Pencilworks
Students will be introduced to various art techniques including watercolor, acrylic paints, colored pencil, and pastel. A different project will be completed each week. New projects each semester.
Who: Grades K-2 When: Wednesday, 3:30-4:30 Cost: $70 per child
Yoga with Powerflow Kids
Yoga can help kids cope with daily pressure by enhancing self-awareness through non-competitive physical activity, breathing exercises, and meditation.
Yoga increases coordination and balance, improves strength and flexibility, and helps build concentration.
Who: Grades 4-6 When: Wednesday, 3:30-4:30 Cost: $70 per child
Enchanted Engineering (Fairytale STEM)with Mrs. Diorio
The objective of this class is to design and build projects for your favorite fairy tale characters. This class will be open to kindergarten and first grade students. Three different books will be used: The Gingerbread Man, Goldilocks, and Three Billy Goats Gruff. For each story, there wil be a problem and the students will need to come up with a way to solve it.

2 Classes! - Longboarding with Miss H
Interested in picking up a hobby that is useful for transportation and fun? Join our class to learn and practice the basics of longboarding such as balancing, pushing along on your board, carving through cones and stopping. Participants will be cruising around in no time! The following equipment is required to participate in the class: longboard OR skateboard, knee, elbow and wrist guards, and helmet.
Who: Grades K-3 When: Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30 Cost: $70 per child
Who: Grades 4-6 When: Fridays, 3:30-4:30 Cost: $70 per child
