The OPENING SPACE FOR AGILITY Conference- NOVEMBER 2017

November 8 (a Wednesday) from 1200PM-0215PM NYC (USA-Eastern) time

Our Theme:  Engaging Emergence!

The Agenda: Open Space pioneer and author PEGGY HOLMAN, followed by specific tutorials focused on applying Open Space and OSA to your Agile work...

Our Keynote: PEGGY HOLMAN

The Keynote:

Engaging Emergence: From Upheaval to Opportunity

I was hooked from the first time I experienced Open Space Technology. It liberated human spirit and supported people to organize and act on what mattered. It sent me on a quest to discover why it worked so that I could bring that magic anytime, not just to Open Space meetings. I found some answers by applying the science of complexity, self-organization and emergence to organizations and communities.

Well talk about what it means to engage emergence guided by your questions and interests.

About Peggy:

Seattle based author and consultant, Peggy Holman, has helped explore a nascent field of social technologies that engage whole systems of people from organizations and communities in creating their own future. She is a recognized leader in deploying group processes that directly involve hundreds, or thousands, of people in organizations or communities in achieving breakthroughs.  Working with a variety of organizations, including tech, biotech, government, nonprofits, and others, she consults on strategies for enabling diverse groups to face complex issues by turning presentation into conversation and passivity into participation.  Peggys clients include Biogen Idec, Boeing, Microsoft, the National Institute of Corrections, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Peggy also taught system change in the American Universitys Master of Science in Organization Development program.

Peggy's work has always been about making peoples work lives better. She began her career in Information Technologies as a programmer, then systems analyst, project manager, ultimately leading a software development group. Her shift to Total Quality led to working with social technologies, like Open Space Technology, to discover what contributes to productive, thriving work environments.

In the second edition of The Change Handbook, Holman joins her co-authors to profile sixty-one innovative engagement processes used by organizations and communities to uncover creative responses to complex challenges. The book is the considered the definitive resource for leaders and consultants who work to increase resilience, agility, collaboration, and aliveness in their organizations and communities.

Peggys latest book, Engaging Emergence: Turning Upheaval into Opportunity, won the 2011 Nautilus Gold Book Award for Conscious Business/Leadership.  A roadmap for tackling complex challenges, Engaging Emergence provides stories, principles, and practices for inviting people to come together and turn disruptions into possibilities.
