The WSU LAMB 200 is a two day hands-on short course offered in Western Washington organized in conjunction with the 2013 Country Living Expo. The course will focus on teaching lamb producers and marketers how to produce and market quality lamb and lamb product, enabling participants to make informed decisons to improve profitability, quality, and wholesomeness of the lambs they are producing and selling.
The first day, January 25th, includes topics about live animal evaluation; lamb pricing; lamb harvest demonstration; carcass evaluation and grading; carcass fabrication into retail cuts; lamb and wine pairing; and marketing opportunities and challenges. The first day starts at 8:00 am with registrations and continues until 8:30 pm at the Stanwood-Camano Fairgrounds. The cost is $85 for the day and includes seminar, hand-outs, lunch, dinner and wine pairing.
The second day, January 26th, will be classes involved with the Country Living Expo at the Stanwood High School.
