B-Side Social w/ David Willford

The Nashville Jazz Workshop continues the new B-Side Social series, Friday, September 8th at 7pm. We'll push back the tables for this fun, informal gathering featuring David Willford.

Come hang out at the Jazz Cave for these B-Side Social events. Once a month NJW will feature up and coming artists in Nashville's continually growing jazz scene. With a lower ticket price -- $12 advance, $15 at the door -- and open seating, it makes for a great Friday night.

As with all events, NJW is always BYOB and BYOF.

Woodwind player and composer David Williford was born and raised in Knoxville, TN. Growing up playing rock and blues with his father, David was in introduced to jazz and contemporary music in his late teens and went on to study music at MTSU - where he was deeply influenced by his professors and peers. Currently residing in Nashville, he works as a performer, composer, and educator.

In the time since he relocated to Nashville, David has become a vibrant part of the growing scene for jazz and new music. While leading his own groups and organizing jam sessions, he has worked towards bringing the spirit and tradition of jazz to the changing sounds of the modern music scene. He performed and recorded with artists such as Dynamo, Mike Hicks, The Nashville Jazz Composers Collective, Jeff Coffin, and Sory Diabate.

Joining David will be a superb group of musicians including: Miguel Alvarado, Emmanuel Echem, Desmond Ng, Joel Gage, Matt Endahl, Calvin Knowles and Jordan Perlson.
