Introduction to Pinhole Photography with Janet Neuhauser
This introductory workshop will cover the history of pinhole photography, contemporary pinhole photographers, and available resources. Time will be devoted to building your own long exposure pinhole camera from an altoid tin as part of The Pinhole Project and you will also learn how to use a pinhole body cap on your own DSLR.

All materials are provided to build and fill at least two altoid tin pinhole cameras. Janet will provide instruction on how to use them, in a location of your choosing, exposing them for an extended period of time, and sending them back to her for scanning. You will receive your images back from Janet via email and as an archival inkjet print.

Please bring a commercially made pinhole body cap and your own DSLR. A tripod is optional, but recommended to bring if you have one. Shooting will take place outside on our plaza.

Janet Neuhauser is a photographer and educator currently based in Seattle, Washington. She is either shooting and working on her own photography or teaching it. As a photographer, she is an omnivore, in love with all types of photography and processes. She has an MFA in Photography from Pratt Institute. She has taught in a variety of venues, from the International Center of Photography in NYC to colleges and universities and in two high schools in Washington state. You can view Janet's work in BIMA's Women in Photography exhibit, up now through October 1, 2017 in the Feferman Gallery. For more information about The Pinhole Project, go to thepinholeproject.org

Saturday, September 30, 2017  |  10am - 1pm  |  BIMA Classroom & outside plaza  |  $60, includes all materials for altoid tin pinhole cameras. Bring your own pinhole body cap and DSLR.
