All Ages  - Bar with I.D.

Singer/songwriter/instrumentalist Kris Delmhorst, shares the stage with Jeffrey Foucault, to celebrate the release of her newest album, THE WILD. This album features a band drawn from players they share long history with as bandmates and friends, and merges Delmhorst's sophisticated melodies and hauntingly open voice with Foucault's lean aesthetic to deliver a darkly hopeful, fiercely wise new collection of songs. The Old Church is excited to present this dynamic duo on November 4, 2017 at 7:30pm.

Though married since 2004, these two acclaimed artists have until now maintained independent touring careers, and THE WILD marks their first foray into the studio together. The album navigates the poles of home and away, known and unknown, and reunites her with old bandmates including Billy Conway - the former Morphine drummer who produced her first two albums - and bassist Jeremy Moses Curtis (Booker T). Featuring two distinct sets of music every night, with the two artists fronting the band in succession, and joining each others sets, the tour offers a rare and intimate performance from two of the countrys foremost songwriters.

Kris Delmhorst
Kris Delmhorst grew up in Brooklyn NY, but her musical home is in Boston MA where she cut her teeth on open mics, bar gigs, and subway busking before embarking on her life as an internationally touring songwriter. She has released six albums on respected indie label Signature Sounds. Delmhorst now lives in the hills of western Massachusetts with her husband, songwriter Jeffrey Foucault, with whom she occasionally performs as part of the collective Redbird.
In May of 2014, Delmhorst released her seventh album, BLOOD TEST (Signature Sounds)  her first of original music since 2008s critically acclaimed album SHOTGUN SINGER. A prolific writer and constant collaborator, Delmhorst continues to share her unique perspective in this new work. The album describes a moment of reckoning and centering in the songwriters life, and in society as a whole. In a collection of songs which move between triumph and heartbreak, restlessness and responsibility, Delmhorst acknowledges the weary work of an intentioned life  and the new American dream of presence and perspective in a frenetic time.
Delmhorst has become a favorite among music fans who like to be challenged as well as entertained.  Music Box Online

Jeffery Foucault
Jeffrey Foucault was 17 when he learned to play all the songs on John Prine's eponymous debut on his father's mail-order guitar, spending long evenings in his bedroom spinning piles of old records on a hand-me-down turntable, lifting the needle to transcribe every line of Desolation Row. At 19 he stole a copy ofTownes Van Zandt: Live and Obscurefrom a friend, and a few years later, having quit school to work as a farm-hand and house-carpenter Foucault began writing the songs that became his first record (2001s Miles From the Lightning). Since that release hes been everything from solo country-blues troubadour to front man for a six-piece rock 'n' roll band, along the way compiling a discography remarkable for its visceral power and complex poetics. Yet it wasnt until he paired with former Morphine drummer Billy Conway that the final piece fell into place and Foucault found the Luther Perkins to his Johnny Cash: the truly sympathetic collaborator to both frame and fire his terse brand of minimalist Americana.

Jeffrey Foucault, sings stark, literate songs that are as wide open as the landscape of his native Midwest. The New Yorker
