City Cantabile Choir, directed by Fred West, presents its much-loved holiday concert featuring beautiful choral music from Ireland, Scotland, and Wales
With guest artists:
Tom Creegan - virtuoso Irish pipes (uiIleann)
Randall Bayes- brilliant Celtic style fiddle and guitar
Denise Fogerty - designer of dancing, 6ft Salmon lanterns
Seumas Gagne- Harp
Kathy Hanson- soprano soloist
Plus Irish step dancing and a story about the Salmon of knowledge
Director Fred West has travelled extensively throughout Scotland, Ireland and Wales and his Celtic choral arrangements have been influenced by the beauty of the land, the warmth of long-ago kin and the mysteries of ancient Neolithic sites such as Newgrange, which IS still today perfectly aligned with the rising sun on the Winter Solstice.
