Mike Schuil: Mike & Wells"

Singer Mike Schuil and pianist Wells Hanley have had a long and fruitful relationship resulting in a number of well-received cabaret shows and two CDs Summer Wind (inspired by the classic Sinatra/Jobim recordings) and the soon-to-be released Time in a Bottle (celebrating the works of 60's singer-songwriters). This time around, in their Pangea debut, they are performing without a band for the first time. The show is a scintillating conversation between two musicians exploring classics from the Great American Songbook and a few surprises. Rodgers & Hart, Johnny Mercer, Henry Mancini, Michel Legrand, Paul Simon and Brian Wilson are among the composers and lyricists featured. Pangea's intimate, sophisticated setting is the perfect backdrop for this personal exploration of the stories these classic songs have to tell.

MIKE SCHUIL

A classically trained vocalist who has appeared with Luciano Pavarotti, George Hearn and other luminaries of the concert and opera stage, Mike made his critically acclaimed solo cabaret debut with "Songs From Across The River" (Sinatra & Springsteen) at Rose's Turn in Greenwich Village.

His second show, "Toes in the Sand", inspired by Sinatra's Jobim sessions, served as the basis for his debut CD, "Summer Wind", which was released in late 2013. His soon to be released follow-up recording, "Time in a Bottle", captures his most recent show at The Metropolitan Room. It is an exploration and reinvention of songs by 60s singer-songwriters created with his longtime partners in cabaret, music director Wells Hanley and director Gerry Geddes and features Noah Hoffeld on cello.

Seating at Pangea is communal. Other guests may be seated at the table. There is a $20 per person food or beverage minimum at the tables. DINNER SEATING BEGINS AT 6:00PM.

Please arrive one half hour prior to the show and allow additional time if you are planning to have a dinner.

Late arrivals will be seated at management's discretion.

Downtown's intimate supper-club Pangea is the ultimate in alt, playing home to some of the best in alt cabaret. The New York Times recently called it "a bohemian oasis not unlike the fabled Max's Kansas City from days gone by."
