Young Mohammad joyfully returns to his tiny village on summer vacation from the Institute for the Blind, unaware of his widowed father's intention to disown him in order to win the hand - and dowry - of a local woman. With the wedding swiftly approaching, Mohammad's future hangs precariously in the balance as his father struggles against his destiny, unable to see the wonder of life and love that's so clear to his son. Life-affirming, transcendent, exquisitely photographed.

What happens when the life youve worked so hard to build falls apart all at once? Nathalie (Isabelle Huppert) is a philosophy teacher with a seemingly settled existence, juggling a rich life of the mind with the day-to-day demands of career and familyincluding frequent visits to her drama queen mother. But beginning with the bombshell revelation that her husband of 25 years is leaving her, one by one the pillars of Nathalies life start to crumble. For the first time in ages, she finds herself adrift, but also with a newfound sense of liberation. With nothing to hold her back, Nathalie sets out to define this new phase of her life and to rediscover herself.  THINGS TO COME holds us completely. A life is unfolding here, under our eyes, and we never lose sight of how special that is. - Kenneth Turan, LA Times

June 20: WILD TALES (2014)

6 short films about apocalyptic revenge - Argentina
Nominated - Best Foreign Film Academy Award & Nominated for Palm dOr at Cannes Film Festival
77% critical rating / Rated R / 122 minutes

Trailer: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3011894/videoplayer/vi3777932825?ref_=tt_ov_vi

Six short stories about apocalyptic revenge - some uproarious, some poignant, some surrealistic, others all too real. The tales include an airplane ride and who you meet on a plane, a coffee shop waitress who serves a man who has wronged her family, road rage which goes too far, a man pushed past his limits, a morality tale of an accident and the class system, and a gloriously dysfunctional wedding saga. These stories are deliciously, infectiously over the top and provide enticing fodder for post-film discussions. WILD TALES rockets along with sleek, amoral charm and a masterful sense of cinematic storytelling. Its worth noting that one of the producers is Spains Pedro Almodovar. - Ty Burr, Boston Globe

June 27: TRUMAN (2015)

Argentinian Comedy/Drama
Swept the Goyas and the Gaudis and was the Audience Favorite at Portland Intl Film Festival
78% critical rating / Not Rated / 108 minutes

Trailer: http://www.metacritic.com/movie/truman

Diagnosed with terminal cancer, Julián (Ricardo Darin) has decided to forgo treatment, and spend his final days tying up loose ends. When childhood friend Tomás pays his ailing friend an unexpected visit, Tomas quickly realizes he wont be able to change Julian's mind. In what will be their final reunion, the two friends set out to finalize Juliáns funeral arrangements, settle his accounts and, most importantly, find a home for his beloved dog, Truman, in this heartfelt and surprisingly humorous film.  Director Cesc Gays wise, wistful and well-observed film about two friends enjoying a final reunion in the shadow of impending death, is by turns amusing and affecting - and quite often both at once.  -  Variety
