The Hollywood Foreign Press Association & Hollywood Heritage Present: Evening @ the Barn - Walt's Dream Factory
On Wednesday, June 7th at 7:30PM Hollywood Heritage and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association will present the final Evening @ the Barn of the season: Walt's Dream Factory - The History of the Disney Studios in Hollywood.

Walt Disney created some of the most beloved live-action movies of all time, and the great showman produced these timeless films right in the backyard of his own Hollywood dream factory, the Walt Disney Studios. Disney author and historian Jim Fanning will host a presentation filled with Disney lore about the filmland studio where Walt created not only his animated classics, but also his live-action comedies, musicals and nostalgic dramas.

In addition to the famed Disney Studiosopened in 1940 in Burbank, this custom designed movie studio remains the world headquarters of The Walt Disney Company to this day the history of Walts original fun factories (including the animation studio on Hyperion Avenue in Los Angeles that was the birthplace of Mickey Mouse) will also be explored. This fun, fact-filled overview includes a peek at Disneys sound stages as well the storied backlot, a now-gone world of small town main streets and old West towns, and a look at the unique buildings of the most magical lot in all of Hollywood.

Special guest Jim Fanning is a writer, historian, editor, researcher and blogger specializing in Disney. A regular contributor to Disney twenty-three Magazine and the D23 website, he has written books, articles, stories, comics and a variety of other works, in addition to officially commissioned projects for many departments of The Walt Disney Company. Jim is the author of The Disney Book, published internationally by DK, which he will be signing and selling in the museum shop after the presentation.

A unique sampling of Disney related memorabilia will be on display in our front gallery. We will also be selling tickets for our famous raffle with all proceeds going to our acquisition fund. See you at the barn!
