Bill Harley, Rachel Panitch and Kristen Lamb

Bill Harley is a songwriter, storyteller, performing and recording artist. Recipient of  two Grammy® awards, Bill uses song and story to paint a vibrant and hilarious picture of American life. With over 35 award-winning recordings and a dozen books to his credit, Bills work honors the universal, the joys and hardships we all share. In slice of life vignettes that exude warmth, wit and wisdom Harley uses a consummate storytellers toolbox of tone, voice, delivery, and pace, creating something palpable between himself and his listeners. His work is polished, knowing and witty and, as the Folk & Acoustic Music Exchange describes -  "Harley's voice carries a positivistic tone, an attitude of hope even amidst the chaos and melancholy."  Awarded the lifetime achievement award from RI Council for the Humanities, an honorary degree from Hamilton College and a member of the RI Music Hall of Fame, Bill tours nationwide from his home in Seekonk, Massachusetts.  www.billharley.com <http://www.billharley.com>

Singer-songwriter-storyteller BIll Harley spins verses that tell stories of American life, but in a way that goes right to your funny bones.  New York Magazine

Bill Harley takes his life and turns it into art. Sounds simple until you actually try to do it. That Harleys art seems so effortless only underscore his mastery. Nuvo Newsweekly.

Rachel Panitch is a Boston-based violinist, improviser, composer, and teaching artist. She has been an artist-in-residence in neighborhoods, in schools, and in Zion National Park. Rachel uses her violin and voice to tell and translate stories. Her playing has been called fearless and brings together aural and written musical traditions.

Rachel performs Classical music with the Cardamom Quartet, is a dance fiddler with French Roast, and weaves new melodies with Thread Ensemble (an improvisatory trio of violins, voices and vibraphone).  Rachels fiddling can be heard on a PBS Utah Bucket List episode, and The Mosque in Morgantown, an Emmy-nominated PBS documentary soundtrack.

Rachel specializes in teaching improvisation and fiddling, and works regularly with a number of music education organizations and schools around Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In 2009, Rachel founded Rhode Island Fiddle Project, a free music program teaching traditional fiddle and dance music to students ages 7-17.  Rachel continues to work with nationally-recognized Community MusicWorks in Providence, RI, where she completed a Fellowship that inspired and incubated RI Fiddle Project. She was chosen as a 2015-2017 Jubilation Fellow, a national award recognizing individuals with an exceptional talent for helping young people feel fully alive through rhythm."

Rachel received her Masters of Music in Contemporary Improvisation from New England Conservatory, and holds a BA in Anthropology from Vassar College.

Kirsten Lamb was born into a musical family in northern New Jersey, and grew up surrounded by a wide variety of music and musicians. A multi-instrumentalist from an early age, Kirsten played piano, violin, and guitar before starting the double bass at age thirteen. She quickly shifted focus to the bass because its versatility matched her growing curiosity for different styles of music.

After graduating from Oberlin in 2009, Kirsten moved to Boston, MA, where she quickly became well-known in the folk, bluegrass, international and jazz scenes around New England. Kirsten regularly performs and records on double bass, banjo, viola da gamba, and voice all over the United States and occasionally around the world. She has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Kimmel Center, The Kennedy Center, Het Compagnietheater, The Ottawa Folk Festival, Blue Note Jazz Club, The Massachusetts State House, The Museum of Fine Arts, and The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. An active member of Ezekiels Wheels Klezmer Band, Cold Chocolate, Klezperanto, Mierlita, and the Alfaia Quartet, Kirsten has also shared a stage with David Grisman, Theodore Bikel, Gil Scott-Herons Midnight Band, and the Klezmer Conservatory Band, among others. Also an avid teacher, Kirsten maintains a private studio, a teaching residency with Young Audiences of Massachusetts serving the three Early Education Centers of Horizons for Homeless Children, and is a frequent guest teaching artist at schools all over Greater Boston. kirstenlambmusic.com
